art of a series of videos exploring inner states and filmmaking, “Hesitation” by Gwen Sierra, studies the fears and consequences of making doubtful choices. Indecision and major doubts experienced by the artist before creating her first video work in many years were the groundwork for this project. From the moment of conception all the way through filming and editing,the struggle to make a definite decision served as a guide to find and observe her hidden fears in both success or failure and their imaginary consequences. As a passive observer of her fears and mind imagery,Gwen,with the help of Artist Catalina Perez,translates her emotions into actions by using objects from their immediate surroundings. The manipulation of color through editing emphasizes the experience of uncertainty about the right course of action. The film is then completed, fear was never an obstacle but of service.
