Study on Anna — B&W

Year
2023

This work explores the space between stillness and movement, where the body becomes difficult to place.

It is, at once, a study of emotion and a study of the camera’s own limits. Through the body, I explore states that resist being fixed or clearly defined, moments where presence becomes uncertain and familiar forms begin to shift.

The photographs question how much an image can communicate about an internal state. By pushing the portrait away from straightforward representation, the body begins to occupy a space between the real and the imagined.

The work stays with this uncertainty, using the body not to describe a particular emotion, but to suggest something that cannot be fully defined.
